The Outlaw Sam Bass

In the summer of 1878, Sam Bass, the infamous stagecoach and bank robber came to central Texas. After a jail break and shoot out with the Round Rock City Marshall and the Texas Rangers, Sam Bass was ambushed and wounded. He died on his birthday in 1878 and the news of his demise was proudly read to the state Democratic Convention in Austin.
